Explanation
The WeatherShield is a protective enclosure fitted around the WaveRadar Rex2 transmitter head. It is manufactured from durable ABS plastic with electrostatic discharge (ESD) dissipative properties.
In offshore environments, the WeatherShield protects the electronics from rain, salt spray, UV exposure, and bird fouling, helping to preserve long-term reliability and hazardous-area compliance.
The WeatherShield has no effect on radar transmission or reception but should remain installed during normal operation and configuration.
Replacement is recommended if the WeatherShield becomes cracked, mechanically damaged, or heavily degraded.
