Explanation
The Rex2 outputs a fixed-length 17-byte HEX message over Modbus RS-485, differing from legacy WaveRadar REX units which used the proprietary TRL2 format before being converted to RS232 locally.
The format of the message is near identical enabling easy integration into existing systems. RS Aqua WaveView Connect software will recognise either format automatically.
Improved timing stability results in more reliable wave statistics and reduced post-processing errors.
Legacy parsing logic should be reviewed and updated when upgrading systems.
